WMS 101 Introduction to Women’s Studies (3 credits)

Women’s Studies employs an interdisciplinary set of tools for analyzing women’s experiences. This introductory course focuses on the ways that sex and gender manifest themselves in social, cultural, historical, and political contexts. Readings and discussion are designed to position race, class, sexuality, and other aspects of identity in relation to gender. Typically, this course will concentrate on the experiences of women in the United States; however, at times this scope will be broadened.
