This is a hands-on course introducing new users to the DW application. The interactive application facilitates construction and maintenance of web pages on a PC or MAC with a graphical user interface and supporting tools. Comprehensive – learn concepts and hands on work in the following areas: organizing files, directories /portable web sites, page layout; DW tools / construction-text, graphics, and links (local and global), Rollovers, Spry Menus, Flash files, and built in JavaScript routines. Explore CSS Styles; popular browsers; generating reports from: broken links, browser incompatibility, missing Alt. text and untitled pages. Selecting an ISP/demonstrations of the built in File Transfer Utility (FTP) to transfer your web pages and related files to a web server for use on the WWW. Advanced CSS3 (Style Sheets) concepts and methods; with displays, printers and Smart Devices. modify Spry menus and effects using CSS and Java Scripts; advantages of Libraries and Templates. Explore HTML5 advances; Forms development and validation methods using JavaScript Behaviors and Sprys; Transmission; using the GET, POST methods; incorporation of videos and sound into a web page; JavaScript programming will be introduced; DW code editor explained; Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tips and E-commerce concepts will be demonstrated using dynamic web pages developed with Server Application tools that integrate applications and SQL commands to create: Uses account login, display DB statistics and table information, and the use of popular admin tools to set up testing servers that manage your Data Base and tables using PHP, MySQL, and Apache Server. 

Students are encouraged to bring in their web projects for construction and debugging during the lab sessions. Helpful - bring in a flash drive to transport files to/from your home or office to the lab. Bring your CS4 or CS5 loaded laptop if available.
