Important Information for
Financial Aid Recipients
Students who are eligible for financial aid over and above
what is needed to pay for college expenses will be provided with the excess
funds in the form of a check, direct deposit to your bank account, or deposit
to your Lazer Card, as you request. Financial aid will be made available
to you on the following schedule for the Fall 2014
On or after the first full week of October 2014:
100% of New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) grants
100% of Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity (SEOG) grants
100% of Federal Parent Loans (PLUS)
50% of Federal Pell Grants
50% of Federal Direct Student Loans
On or after the first full week of November 2014:
Students who have excess aid of at least $25 after payment of tuition,
fees and all residence hall and meal plan charges, are automatically allowed to
charge books in the bookstore. Students who are eligible will be notified
separately of the bookstore charge availability.
keep in mind that federal financial aid rules require a student to attend his
or her classes for the entire period in which aid is
awarded. If you withdraw from college entirely, drop one or more
classes, or stop attending one or more classes, you may lose some or all of
your financial aid while still being responsible for any expenses you have
incurred. Please check with your advisor and the Financial Aid Office
prior to making any changes in your academic schedule, and make regular class
attendance a priority.
