Join this growing field and be a part of the fourth hottest job in the U.S. This challenging course is taught over an eight-week period with the national exam held in the ninth week. This course is formatted as a 62-hour program and is comprised of 16 hours of lecture, 16 hours of practical training, and 30 hours in an externship. Course topics include anatomy & physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, exercise physiology, fitness testing, equipment usage, and health assessment. CPR/AED is needed to receive the certification. Students must be 18 years old. This fast-paced, rigorous course requires a high school diploma, or high school equivalent/GED, with biological science classes helpful.
