Graduating Student Receives National Honor in Math
Corinne Hutchinson ’13 has received a prestigious national honor for excellence in mathematics. Hutchinson, who graduated from Onondaga May 18 with a degree in engineering science, has been named the Northeast Region’s highest female scorer in the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year College’s (AMATYC) national student mathematics league for the 2012-13 school year. She will receive a certificate and membership in the Association of Women in Mathematics which sponsors the awards. Hutchinson will be attending the University of Buffalo in the fall where she will major in mechanical engineering. Hutchinson is from Syracuse and was home-schooled. While attending Onondaga she worked in the math lab as a tutor.
