Students, employees and community members joined together during College Hour on Friday, September 9 in remembrance of the events that took place on September 11, 2001. The program included remarks by Onondaga Community College President Debbie L. Sydow, Ph.D., Crytal Etzel, professor of English/Reading/Communication, Reverand Roberta Yackel, and Student Association President Carole Fisher. They were joined by bagpiper and Onondaga alumnus Paul Sheedy, a five-member color guard, service members and veterans, and a number of area first responders.
The ceremony took place at the site of the symbolic white pine tree and 9/11 commemorative plaque located outdoors adjacent to the Whitney Applied Technology Center.
