Apprenticeships

OCC works closely with employers to support the related instruction requirements of apprentices and align course offerings to meet these needs. We also assist apprentices with course registration and navigating College systems and resources. Employers with apprenticeship programs benefit from higher retention rates and returns on investment, and a more engaged workforce with a desire to learn and grow.

Funding Opportunities

If your company has a registered apprenticeship program, you may be eligible for funding to help cover costs. OCC has funding through the SUNY Apprenticeship Program to help cover costs of training and materials for registered apprentices in any approved apprenticeship program.  See the Apprenticeship Trades at NYSDOL for a list of approved trades and to explore possible new trades. Funding is also available to assist with on-the-job learning costs for approved apprenticeship sponsors in manufacturing companies with 50 or less employees.

If you are considering apprenticeship for your company, or if you have an existing program and would like to learn more about these opportunities, please reach out to us today!

Byrne Logo

"We developed a program in partnership with OCC called “Supervisor Academy” where future leaders at Byrne can develop their skills through interactive training.  What makes the OCC program great is its very structured and includes a follow up process with the graduates after completion.  The program was supported by the Byrne leadership team and future programs with OCC will be used to help all Byrne employees."
