Why give to the OCC Foundation?
Our students take on tough challenges every day, and our goal is to help reduce some of those barriers. When you give, you help champion accessible, affordable higher education for our students.
Through annual fundraising, donations, events, and other philanthropic support provided by individuals and organizations like you, over $1 million each year goes towards student scholarships, academic and personal support, college readiness initiatives, and career success.

"New Nursing Alumna Says "I Can't Believe My Dream Came True"
December 11 is one of those dates Rania Estefanous will always remember — she completed her Nursing degree at Onondaga Community College. "This was my dream since I came to the United States. I can't believe my dream came true." Estefanous immigrated to the U.S. from Egypt in 2005. Five years later she became an American citizen. She had earned a college degree in Egypt and was working as a dietician, but she realized it wasn't the career she wanted here.

What is OCC’s Day of Giving?
A Day of Giving is a daylong fundraising event that typically takes place in the spring. At OCC this year it is Wednesday, April 16, 2025, a day devoted to bringing the entire Lazer community together for 24 hours of friendly competition, fun challenges and, of course Giving - all to make a difference for our students, faculty, programs and more. We know that we’re stronger together — and that when it comes to making a difference, the time is now.
Your donation, no matter the size, can spark a wave of transformation. Whether it's providing scholarships for deserving students, funding student emergency programs or supporting career success, every dollar contributes to a brighter future for OCC. And your gift doesn’t just provide financial support; it encourages our students by showing them that the OCC family keeps investing and believing in them, every step of the way. Let’s work together, to show everyone what the OCC community can do in 24 hours!

Michael and Janelle Ancillotti support students through the OCC Foundation, giving $10,000 to those most in need of financial support both inside and outside the classroom. "If OCC had not been flexible in giving me a chance to follow my passion and guide me along the way, I don't know where I would be. The decision to give back was simple. I hope it helps current and future students achieve their dreams like I have done."

Student Spotlight: Don Ariola
Don Ariola is a survivor. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps, and while serving overseas, was exposed to combat. By the time he was discharged four and a half years after enlisting, he was in the middle of a personal struggle. In 2023 at age 41, he decided to give college a try, and now in his third semester at OCC, Ariola is working toward a degree in Physical Education & Fitness Studies program. He plans to transfer to SUNY Cortland and pursue his dream of becoming a nutritionist and kinesiologist.
