LPP
What is the Liberty Partnerships Program?
Funded by the New York State Education Department, The Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) at Onondaga Community College offers a variety of support (academic support, career/workforce readiness, mentoring, college prep and social/emotional support) to fit the needs of students in grades 7-12. Our goal is to ensure our students complete all the necessary requirements to eventually graduate from high school with a plan for life’s next steps.
Here at OCC, our LPP program focuses on helping local students in the greater Syracuse area, and accepts students from the following schools:
High Schools
- Corcoran High School
- Henninger High School
- Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central (ITC)
- Nottingham High Schools
- Public Service Leadership Academy (PSLA) @ Fowler
- LaFayette Junior – Senior High School
- LaFayette Big Picture School
Middle Schools
Why you should join
If you are a student at any of our participating schools (not enrolled in another LPP)looking for some additional support, we highly recommend you ask our school counselor, school social worker, dean of students or building administrator to get you connected to the LPP at OCC Student Navigator assigned to your school. From there, our LPP at OCC Student Navigator can discuss how we can assist you on your journey to high school graduation! Here are some reasons why you should join:
- Access to dedicated Student Navigator multiple days during the week assigned to your school during the school day.
- Assistance with identifying yearly goals, creating an individualized learning plan yearly and exploring options to seek academic support to help you succeed in school and in life.
- College readiness and workforce development opportunities through our partnerships with OnPoint for College and CNY Works.
- Help with high school graduation planning depending on your desired path (continuing your education, full-time employment or military service)
- For students seeking part-time employment, we can help you develop your resume, practice interview techniques, search for summer employment opportunities, and explore available internships.
- We will also explore Early College opportunities for you connected to your Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways or other existing partnerships with your school/school district to earn free college credit at OCC.
