The amazing Kayla McKeon '22 has done it again!

McKeon has helped design the first Barbie Doll with Down Syndrome. Her story was highlighted earlier this week on ABC Television's Good Morning America and local ABC affiliate WSYR TV.

In 2018 McKeon became the first registered lobbyist with Down Syndrome when she began working for the Washington D.C.-based National Down Syndrome Society. Her efforts helped pass the "Able to Work Act." It allows people with disabilities to save greater amounts of money without penalty to their Medicaid benefits.

McKeon earned her General Studies degree from Onondaga Community College in 2022, 12 years after she began taking classes here.

Congratulations Kayla on another remarkable accomplishment!
