Michael Speach '02 is dedicated to helping his community, and throughout the month of August students who receive scholarships from the OCC Foundation will benefit.

Speach is a distinguished graduate of Onondaga Community College, and the President and Head Chocolatier of the 104-year-old Speach Family Candy Shoppe. The centerpiece of his store, which is located at 2400 Lodi Street on Syracuse's North Side, is a colorful jukebox he had custom-made in California. Speach stocked it with his personal collection of hit records, and created a fundraiser titled "Quarters for Change." Customers pay 25 cents to play the song of their choice, and the money is donated to a different charitable cause each month. In August, the recipient is the OCC Foundation which raises money to support student scholarships!

Thanks in large part to a robust presence on the internet, Speach's Candy is sold in 49 states. Online customers can also participate in Quarters for Change through Speach's website.

If you are thinking about ordering a sweet treat, visit The Speach Family Candy Shoppe, play a few hit records, and help raise money for the OCC Foundation!
