A rising member of the Onondaga Community College family has been chosen for a prestigious statewide position. Dana Acee is a member of the first group of Postsecondary State Career Technical Education (NYSATCE) Leaders Fellows. "I am honored to be chosen to participate in the New York Association for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Leaders Fellowship program. I hope to bring what I learn to our students at OCC and our community to help continue the work of building equitable education and workforce systems for our region."

Acee has worked in a variety of positions since arriving on the OCC campus in 2016. Earlier this month she ascended to a new role, Assistant Dean of Civic Engagement and Career & Transfer Services. She is also a member of OCC's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Council, the Onondaga County One Stop Operator Group, and the OnPoint for College Career Services Advisory Board.

"I am honored to recognize the inaugural cohort of the NYSATCE Postsecondary CTE State Leaders Fellowship," said Amy Cox, Director of Career Readiness and Workforce Partnerships with the New York State Education Department. "This distinguished group represents the rich diversity of New York's CTE community. They are a testament to the talent and commitment needed to address the evolving challenges of postsecondary CTE."

Acee is one of 15 education professionals selected from across New York State. The group also includes Onondaga Community College Alumnus Quindell Williams '08. He is a teacher and CTE Workforce and Talent Development Coach at PSLA at Fowler in the Syracuse City School District.
