New American citizens recite the Pledge of Allegiance during a Naturalization ceremony held November 9 in the SRC Arena.

Onondaga Community College's SRC Arena was briefly transformed into a Federal Courtroom November 9 when it hosted a Naturalization ceremony. Nearly 100 candidates for citizenship were sworn-in as American citizens by U.S. District Court Judge David E. Peebles.

The new citizens immigrated from Afghanistan, Albania, Argentina, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Burma, Canada, China, Congo, Cuba, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Germany, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Mauritania, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Somalia, South Korea, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Vietnam, and Yemen.
