Onondaga Community College's chapter of international honor society Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) has raised the bar to an unprecedented level. The chapter has been ranked in the top ten internationally in each of the last three years. PTK is the official honor society of two-year colleges and there are nearly 1,300 chapters around the world. OCC's honor society has also been named best in New York State three years in a row.
On this edition of our podcast, "Chatting About College," we discuss plans for the year ahead with PTK Faculty Advisor and Sociology Professor Dr. Annie Tuttle, and student Iannelis Castro Calderon. She graduated in the top ten percent of her class at Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 2020. She could have attended any one of a number of colleges she was accepted to, but chose OCC where she is pursuing a degree in Human Services. She is also PTK's Vice President of Scholarships and part of the chapter's Leadership Team.
