As Onondaga Community College prepares to sendoff the class of 2023, it is simultaneously welcoming the next class of OCC Advantage students. In the final weeks of the semester, 235 9th grade students from 5 Onondaga County School districts are coming to campus for signing ceremonies.
The festivities began May 4 with students from Jordan-Elbridge High School. They'll be followed by students from the Onondaga Central, LaFayette, East Syracuse Minoa, and Solvay School Districts.
Following the signing ceremonies, students get a tour of campus. They see the Broadcast Media Communications TV studio and audio suites, the Mechanical and Electrical Technology labs, and the Automotive Technology facilities. Their visit concludes with the highlight of the day... lunch!
Students who actively participate in the OCC Advantage program and meet required benchmarks including grade point average, attendance, and campus visits during high school may have the opportunity to earn program funding toward an OCC degree or certificate.
Group photos of the new OCC Advantage students are below. Congratulations to all!
