Onondaga Community College students Stephanie Rosado and Giavanna Sylvester presented on the "Student Conversation Circles About Race, Gender, Religion, Economic Status and Sexual Orientation" at the statewide conference, "Inclusion:  Leading in a World of Differences," at SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, February 25, 2017.
They participated in a panel discussion and shared their experiences as participants in the fall 2016 dialogues. They discussed their Applied Learning Experiences which they completed earlier this year and the next steps they will undertake to bring about a greater acceptance and appreciation for a diverse citizenry. Also on the panel was Ms. Darien Gregory, the newly appointed Director of Concurrent Enrollment & Secondary School Programs and a facilitator of the conversation circles since their inception, and Vice President Eunice Williams, OCC's Chief Diversity Officer.
Rosado and Sylvester, along with three other OCC students, will present at the upcoming statewide conference, "Inclusion & Diversity Summit," at Tompkins Cortland Community College on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
