I. Policy Statement
This policy sets forth the requirements for amendments of Onondaga Community College’s operating budget.
II. Reason for Policy
This policy facilitates compliance with Article 126 of the New York Education Law, the corresponding Education Department regulations, and the Department’s Code of Standards and Procedures for the Administration and Operation of Community Colleges.
III. Applicability of the Policy
All members of the College community should be familiar with this policy.

Operating Budget |
The College’s final operating budget, as approved by Onondaga County and the SUNY Trustees as described in the College’s policy on development, adoption and acceptance of the operating budget. |
VII. Procedures
Where necessary and feasible within the total dollar amount of the operating budget, the College’s Board of Trustees may approve the transfer of appropriations from one function or object of expense account to another. Where a proposed amendment will require an increase in the total operating budget, both Onondaga County and the SUNY Trustees must also approve the amendment. As soon as the College anticipates requesting an amendment to increase its total operating budget, the College shall immediately report the matter to the SUNY Chancellor or his/her designee.
