- Describe the circumstances that led to your being banned from Onondaga Community College:
- Write a brief statement stating “who you are” so the committee can learn a little about you:
- Why do you wish to have why you wish to have your ban lifted?
If your intention is to enroll what plans are in place to achieve good academic performance. Be specific. What will be different from the previous situation causing your Campus Ban? What campus and other services will you use to improve your academic performance? - If you were banned relative to any criminal activity (i.e arrest) you must submit at least three (3) character reference letters from individuals who will be able to attest to your good citizenship, maturity and readiness to return to the college.

An appeal is a request for a review. Make your appeal clear but concise. Focus your attention on your actions and the facts of the situation. Avoid antagonistic language and/or descriptions that are not supported by formal documentation. Do not clutter your letter of appeal with irrelevant details and/or accusations that reflect unnecessary defensiveness. Consult others, but please write your own letter.
The Committee will render a decision based on a review of the written appeal. The Committee will either affirm, amend or overturn the Campus Ban. Their decision will be communicated to you by email and letter.
Unless the Ban is overturned or amended on appeal, it remains in effect for the duration noted on the paperwork when it was issued or as indicated on any amendments.
