Onondaga Community College's chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society is celebrating another year of excellence on the international stage! Representatives of OCC's chapter, named Alpha Sigma Zeta, traveled to Kansas City for the international PTK Catalyst conference where they were recognized as one of the top chapter's in the world.
The National Awards they brought back to campus included:
- Distinguished Chapter Award - among the Top 50 out of 1,250 chapters world wide.
- Distinguished College Project - among the Top 50 out of 1,250 chapters world wide.
- Distinguished Honors In Action Project - among the Top 50 out of 1,250 chapters world wide.
- Distinguished Honors In Action Project Theme Award - Theme 4 - Top 3 projects in the world for Theme 4. PTK Officers Bianca Gascon and Carl Christensen made a video describing their award-winning Honors In Action project which you can view here.
OCC's PTK Chapter was also recognized for excellence across New York State with the following awards:
- Distinguished Officer Team - 2nd runner up.
- Non-Traditional Student Award - Heather Patrick.
- Fellowship Award - Winner.
- Programming Awareness Award - Winner.
- Edgiest Chapter - 1st Runner Up.
- Honors In Action Theme 4 Award - Winner.
- Honors In Action Top 3 Award - Winner.
- College Project Top 3 Award - Winner.
- Most Distinguished Chapter - 1st Runner Up.
- 5 Star Chapter & Reach Status
