2023 is quickly coming to a close, but there's still time to participate in the OCC Foundation's year-end appeal! Onondaga Community College students who may benefit from your support include:
Chaiya Renfroe
- Chaiya is a graduate of Nottingham High School who has become a leader on the OCC campus. She's a Student Trustee on the Board of Trustees, an RA in the residence hall, and an Ambassador for the Educational Opportunity Program who goes into local high schools and speaks with students about the benefits of attending OCC.
- During her freshman year she was member of the first group of students in the Meg O'Connell Social Justice Scholars & Mentors program, and was one of just 9 students on campus to receive a Pinnacle Award.
Danielle Lambert
- Danielle is a Student Veteran who spent four years in the United States Air Force before enrolling at OCC. She was inspired to join the military by the 9/11 terrorist attacks which occurred during her senior year of high school.
- She's a mother of three who became a passionate advocate for Autism Spectrum Disorder after her oldest son was diagnosed.
- During the 2022-2023 academic year she was a member of Student Government. This year she is an officer in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Noor Noor
- Noor attended high school in Brooklyn before coming to OCC where he is pursuing a degree in Mathematics & Science.
- He is a role model and leader within the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (C-STEP) where he serves as a Peer Mentor to fellow students.
- He has taken advantage of rewarding opportunities provided through C-STEP, doing scientific research at Syracuse University and SUNY Binghamton.
- Noor was a member of the first group of Meg O'Connell Social Justice Scholars.
